What Does Expansion Pass 4 Include?

Floating cities, fae rulers, and magically crafted warriors open up new possibilities for your next empire. Age of Wonders 4 Expansion Pass 4 bundles three expansions with Singer of Storms, an instant unlock that adds faction options and ruler equipment. The purchase covers both playable content and upcoming expansions, so consider the whole lineup before committing.

The pass includes:

  • The Silver Seas: Ocean settlement, the Mercantile Culture, pirate captains, two forms, and four tomes.
  • Singer of Storms: The premade ruler Mael, customization items, a magic weapon, amphibious mounts, and a society trait.
  • Court of the Archfey: A new ruler type, seasonal and illusion magic themes, story realms, and more.
  • Forge of the Firstborn: Living golems, customizable warriors, story realms, and a new forge mechanic.

The Silver Seas launched on November 3, 2026. Singer of Storms unlocks immediately with the pass, while Court of the Archfey and Forge of the Firstborn are upcoming parts of the lineup.

The Silver Seas: Floating Cities and Mercantile Empires

The Silver Seas brings empire building onto the ocean itself. Its Mercantile Culture can settle both land and sea, letting you establish floating cities while pursuing trade, piracy, or a ruthless commercial empire.

That opens up a different faction fantasy: build around wealthy merchants, or embrace plunder and an expanding cartel network. Choose the culture when founding cities on the waves is central to the campaign you want to play.

Pirate Captains and New Forms

Ocean exploration also introduces Dwellings controlled by independent pirate captains. Each captain has a personality, relationships, and an agenda, giving you reasons to engage with them beyond simply clearing another location. You can support their ambitions or oppose them.

Two forms expand your faction creator options:

  • Sharkin: A large, imposing option for an empire of sea predators.
  • Aqualon: An elegant aquatic form for a different take on fish folk.

Use these forms to establish your faction’s identity, then build its magical direction around the new tomes.

Four Tomes and More Ocean Content

The expansion’s four new tomes cover Hydromancy, Cryomancy, Piracy, and the Damned. Those themes offer room for water magic, ice magic, raiding, and darker supernatural faction concepts.

The package also adds mounts, wildlife, music, realm templates, and an interface skin.

Singer of Storms: Your Immediate Unlock

Singer of Storms gives you content to use immediately after purchasing the pass. It includes Mael, a premade ruler who brings the pack’s additions together in one ready-made faction concept.

For custom rulers and factions, the pack contains:

  • Mael’s outfit: Customization pieces you can wear together or combine with other equipment appearances.
  • Tempest Orb: A new orb magic weapon.
  • Storm Seamare Mounts: Amphibious mounts for traveling across land and ocean.
  • Tidecallers Society Trait: A society trait themed around drawing power from watery environments and bringing sea creatures into your forces.

Start with Mael to use the additions together, or incorporate the outfit, mounts, weapon, and society trait into your own creation.

This unlock includes gameplay options alongside its visual customization. Factor the mounts and society trait into your purchase decision if faction creation is a major part of your enjoyment.

Court of the Archfey and Forge of the Firstborn

The remaining expansions take the pass beyond its opening nautical theme.

Court of the Archfey

Court of the Archfey centers on glamour, illusion, deepwood spirits, and the changing seasons. Its additions include a new ruler type, a new form, new tomes, story realms, and world map content.

Archfey rulers are a central attraction here. Consider this part of the lineup if you want your next empire’s identity to revolve around fae power and enchanted forests.

Forge of the Firstborn

Forge of the Firstborn explores ancient Dwarven halls and the creation of magically empowered life. Its themes include awakening living golems and crafting custom warriors.

The expansion includes a new forge mechanic, a new form, new tomes, and story realms. Count it among the reasons to buy the full pass if constructing warriors and pursuing a Dwarven creation fantasy appeal to you.

What the Free Manta Update Adds

The Manta Update launched alongside The Silver Seas on November 3, 2026. Its free water improvements affect world map play, combat, and visuals.

Embarking now uses a flat cost, and outposts can be founded on water. These changes give existing owners reasons to revisit ocean maps even without purchasing the expansion.

Keep the distinction clear when deciding what to buy: water outposts belong to the free update, while the Mercantile Culture’s floating cities are part of The Silver Seas.

Buying the Pass or Individual DLC

The base game is required for these DLC packs. Keep your installation current, since gameplay DLC requires a compatible game version.

Compare the pass’s price against the individual expansions you want. Expansion bundles offer a discount, but the useful comparison is how much of the lineup you intend to play. Choose The Silver Seas separately if ocean settlement is your main interest; consider the full pass if the Archfey and Firstborn themes also fit your campaign plans.

For multiplayer, the host’s gameplay DLC is shared within the hosted game with players who do not own it. Join a friend’s session to play with their gameplay expansions before deciding which ones you want for your own games.

You can purchase the bundle through the Expansion Pass 4 Steam page.
